HOPE IS A LIE
Hope was the last demon imprisoned in Pandora's Box. Regardless of what version of the legend is told: whether it remained trapped in the Box or was released there was no benefit to the human condition because Hope paralyzes the Hoper from positive action.
Consider that in all of its mythological tragedy:
In the one legend Pandora closed the box before Hope could escape. Pandora was paralyzed to RELEASE Hope therefore FINISH the disaster she had unleashed on the world. Hope in that case was TRAPPED and could do nothing, regardless of whether it was just another Peri bent on mischief and destruction, or if it actually had the powers to repair or heal. IT WAS TRAPPED! In the other legend, Hope was released along with all of the other demons that stung and tortured mankind due to Pandora's lack of self control (a Buddhist goal --- self control, that is, not the lack of it...). So, in the second version Hope was released, not trapped, able to do something...so what got done?

When is the last time that someone acted randomly and was supported by their neighbors and protected from 'authority'? There is a reason for this: THEY KILL PRESIDENTS WITH THE CAMERAS ROLLING. Hope is linked to Game Theory. If you have Hope of breaking-even or maybe winning then you will continue to play the game.
